John M. Stull

John M. Stull (16 June 1823 – 24 Jan 1906) bought the vacant lot on which The Thomas M. Abell House sits in 1856.

Mr. Stull resided at 209 Mahoning Avenue – never on Washington Avenue.
It is believed that he purchased the lot on Washington for the purpose of building a 4-room (2-up/2-down) house to use as a rental property.

His own home on Mahoning (re-numbered to 430) ended up being demolished, and the Warren Trumbull County Public Library took its place.

While not a resident of the house, Mr. Stull played some important roles in Warren and Trumbull County which should be recognized:
In the spring of 1858, he was elected mayor of Warren, and in the fall of that same year, he was also elected Prosecuting Attorney for Trumbull County.
He was one of the directors of the Trumbull National Bank, and was credited locally as being one of the most active and influential politicians.
